Clarity – Privacy Policy

Effective: 15 September 2025

Clarity tracks and blocks AI sites to help you focus. It is designed to work entirely on your device. It does not run servers, and your data will not be sold, rented, or shared.

Summary

Data the extension stores locally

Clarity records only hostnames (e.g., chatgpt.com) and time totals. It does not read page content, keystrokes, chat messages, or cookies.

How data is processed

Clarity’s content script notes when a tab on a tracked domain is visible and credits time locally. Blocking uses Chrome’s declarativeNetRequest and does not send URLs off-device.

Sharing & third parties

Your data will not be shared with third parties. The extension includes no analytics, ads, or trackers.

Permissions explained

Retention & deletion

Data remains in your browser until you remove the extension or clear its storage. To delete: Remove the extension (deletes local data)

Incognito

If you enable Allow in incognito, Chrome may keep separate storage for incognito. Removing the extension deletes that data too.

Children

Clarity is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly process children’s personal data.

Changes

If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top and publish the new version at this URL.
